You are so talented, the detail is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your work.

Vicki, I absolutely feel like crying. It’s amazing, so perfectly connected to the Hope wall. I can’t stop looking at it! Really beautiful. It makes me believe we can get rainbow paint!

Our little hare friend arrived safely and appears quite happy with his new home! And we, his new caretakers, couldn’t be more thrilled with him and delighted with your brilliant work!! He’s even more gorgeous than in the pictures. I am over the moon.

My father-in-law isn’t often moved to shed a few tears but your portrait certainly did just that. As birthday presents go I think you nailed it for him!

Just awesome Vicki. The movement you create and use of colour are stunning.

A short review because that’s all that is required.

You only have to look through Vicki’s body of work to see the consistency of her talent. Each piece is easily identifiable as hers. There’s little wonder her work is in such demand, and having two of her pieces I certainly have turned into a collector.

THE ARTIST

About Vicki

Vicki Davidson is an artist with a passion for bright, dynamic and inspirational art. Always keen to experiment, Vicki works in oil, pastel, acrylic, watercolour, charcoal…and anything she can get her hands on to make a mark really! Subjects include sketches, portraits, animals (especially hares!) and, more recently, landscapes.

Although Vicki studied art and design at ‘A’ Level, a busy career in nursing has left little time for her passion. Vicki’s nursing career has taken her around the world, including London, Australia, an African expedition and even some time in a Field Hospital during her time as a reservist with the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps. Now her two children are growing up, and needing her less, Vicki has decided to pursue her passion for art.

In 2017 Vicki started sharing her work on social media and in a few select local galleries. The artwork has rapidly generated a keen interest, resulting in commissions and requests for prints of the work. Vicki still works as a nurse for the NHS, currently at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. Vicki, originally from Dartmoor in Devon, lives on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales with her husband and two children.

I think I’m just about there with Foxy now.
🦊

There’s a few little bits I may tweak; I need to see him fresh after a wee break to make sure I’m completely happy.

Then I will capture the image with @niddimaging just in case anyone fancies prints.

The original will be off to @yorkshireframingservice to be beautifully framed 😊

I’ve had lots of requests for a fox painting, so do let me know what you think.

I often spend time drawing, either in my sketchbook or, like here, on a larger scale.

I work quite quickly (although this is speeded up of course 😂 so not THAT quick!) and here I’m using compressed willow charcoal and white pastel.

I’m not sure the result was spectacular, but it’s just part of my regular practice.

Sorry I can’t recall the exact reference so tagging my two favourite hare photographers who generously support artists- but do remember they appreciate a mention if you use their work 🥰

On with a new piece.

Using my lovely @unisoncolour pastels.

I love using pastels as they are so tactile and lovely to blend. However, they can create quite a dusty mess too 😄

What is Giclée printing?

Giclée is a French word (pronounced Zhee-Clay) which literally means “fine spray”. Giclée fine art prints are produced digitally on high quality inkjet printers, which have the capability to reproduce a much wider range of colours than conventional processes, due to the specially formulated inks and media used. The Giclée process is really the only current solution available to artists who wish to obtain a close match to their original work and have the peace of mind that the prints will remain vibrant and fade resistant for decades to come.

All of the printing at Vicki Davidson is carried out by Nidd Imaging. Their quality of prints is exceptional!

Each print is approved by Vicki to ensure the colour match is as exact as possible to the original.

You can see more about Nidd Imaging and their printing process via; http://www.niddimaging.co.uk/
