You are so talented, the detail is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your work.

Vicki, I absolutely feel like crying. It’s amazing, so perfectly connected to the Hope wall. I can’t stop looking at it! Really beautiful. It makes me believe we can get rainbow paint!

Our little hare friend arrived safely and appears quite happy with his new home! And we, his new caretakers, couldn’t be more thrilled with him and delighted with your brilliant work!! He’s even more gorgeous than in the pictures. I am over the moon.

My father-in-law isn’t often moved to shed a few tears but your portrait certainly did just that. As birthday presents go I think you nailed it for him!

Just awesome Vicki. The movement you create and use of colour are stunning.

A short review because that’s all that is required.

You only have to look through Vicki’s body of work to see the consistency of her talent. Each piece is easily identifiable as hers. There’s little wonder her work is in such demand, and having two of her pieces I certainly have turned into a collector.

About Vicki

Vicki Davidson is an artist with a passion for bright, dynamic and inspirational art. Always keen to experiment, Vicki works in oil, pastel, acrylic, watercolour, charcoal…and anything she can get her hands on to make a mark really! Subjects include sketches, portraits, animals (especially hares!) and, more recently, landscapes.

Although Vicki studied art and design at ‘A’ Level, a busy career in nursing has left little time for her passion. Vicki’s nursing career has taken her around the world, including London, Australia, an African expedition and even some time in a Field Hospital during her time as a reservist with the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps. Now her two children are growing up, and needing her less, Vicki has decided to pursue her passion for art.

In 2017 Vicki started sharing her work on social media and in a few select local galleries. The artwork has rapidly generated a keen interest, resulting in commissions and requests for prints of the work. Vicki still works as a nurse for the NHS, currently at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. Vicki, originally from Dartmoor in Devon, lives on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales with her husband and two children.

My happy place! 😊

This was painting ‘Yorkshire Hare’.
The original is sold, but available as a mounted print, greeting card, coasters and bag!

I can also arrange printed canvases if you fancy this option.

I have another large hare painting in progress at the moment, but it’s most definitely at ‘the ugly stage’ (if you’re an artists- you’ll know what I mean! 😆)

Little Blackbird

I feel really creative with pastels. The colours are incredibly vibrant and it feels so spontaneous. No preparation, just start scribbling.
Pure joy! 🙌

I also love our little blackbirds in the garden. We feed them mealworms every morning 🥰

I’ve recently completed this sketchbook.

I thought you may like to take a peek inside.

Kind of random, but I’ve had fun exploring different subjects and a range of art supplies! 🎨

I love working in my sketchbooks and always have one close to hand and use it regularly.

If you’re interested, this sketchbook is a @seawhiteofbrighton spiral-bound A4

I’ve been trying out some new coloured pencils; the @derwentartofficial #lightfast

I drew this 🦊 on #pastelmat using a fabulous reference photo from @francescrickmorephoto

My original drawing was a bit ‘off’ (he would have benefitted from bigger ears) and coloured pencil requires more patience than I think I am blessed with. Still, I enjoyed working in this and it’s helped me to experiment with these lovely pencils.

What is Giclée printing?

Giclée is a French word (pronounced Zhee-Clay) which literally means “fine spray”. Giclée fine art prints are produced digitally on high quality inkjet printers, which have the capability to reproduce a much wider range of colours than conventional processes, due to the specially formulated inks and media used. The Giclée process is really the only current solution available to artists who wish to obtain a close match to their original work and have the peace of mind that the prints will remain vibrant and fade resistant for decades to come.

All of the printing at Vicki Davidson is carried out by Nidd Imaging. Their quality of prints is exceptional!

Each print is approved by Vicki to ensure the colour match is as exact as possible to the original.

You can see more about Nidd Imaging and their printing process via; http://www.niddimaging.co.uk/
