Animal Paintings

Animals and birds are one of my favourite subjects to paint.

I love to capture the unique character and individuality of each subject – I would like the viewer to almost know what they are thinking. I particularly like British wildlife, and especially hares. I don’t really know why I like painting hares so much, I just love their big feet, big ears and cheeky characters. It is also such a thrill to see a wild hare shooting across the field, or playing in groups at dusk. I am lucky to have lots of hares living in the countryside close to my house, and I never tire of seeing them.

My growing collection of animal art features my favourite subjects, including hares, rabbits, squirrels, highland cows and birds, with more being added to the collection all the time. Animals continue to inspire and intrigue me with their beauty and variety. I love to experiment with colour, in addition to different media, including oil, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, pencil and watercolour.
